Music Matters Hereford is a not-for-profit group whose aims are to increase the awareness and benefits of music throughout Herefordshire.
It was whilst trying to raise funds for the Sea Cadets that leader Chris Filbrandt asked Stephen Symonds to help and find him a local band to play at a forthcoming fundraising event.
Within a short time Stephen realised that there was a wealth of musical talent in Herefordshire just dying to be heard and that one band quickly became eight. The Wyeside Music Festival took place in July 2005 and despite the appalling weather it turned out to be a great day.
Afterwards it was obvious from feedback that there was a desperate need for this type of community event in Hereford. So with the support of local Mayor, Marcelle Lloyd-Hayes, Chris, Steve and three others formed Music Matters Hereford in November 2005.
